Off Season Phase I. Jan-Feb (Strength Training begins on Tuesday, Jan 5th)
*Strength Training (Tuesday and Thursday) 4:00-5:00 PM @OBHS Weight Room. The winter is the best time to be making strength gains. These will be our time to work out together as a team. Our Strength Coaches will support and push you to the next level. Make this your priority and it will enhance your performance.
*Cardio Respiratory Endurance 2 workouts on your own compliment on a separate day of Strength Training; Monday, Wednesday or the weekend. Sprint intervals, or 1 ½ miles as hard as you can are good places to start. Other ideas are a 40-minute jog. Vary your speed from a light jog to a run, sprint to a brisk walk. You are always moving; however your speeds and intensities vary based on the demands of game. We must continue to enhance our fitness. Invest into yourself and your team.
*Virtual Meetings -We are targeting January 19-21 for player meetings. Directions for sign up and invitations will be shared early next week. Player meetings will be 15 minutes.
*Incoming Freshmen we are working on connecting you to the Program. Stay tuned for details to begin conditioning in March.
Off Season Phase II. March-May
*Strength Training will continue through team workouts at the same time as above.
Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:00 pm. Coach Brooks will be leading us in muscular endurance exercises to enhance our performance on the field. We will begin assessing and measuring growth in the weight room that will translate to the physicality of our playing style.
*SAQ stands for Speed, Agility and Quickness. This program is geared to improve on field performance. The exercises will mimic game like situations. This is an 8-week program, we will meet for a 1-hour session once a week. These will take place on Wednesdays from 4-5 pm. We will focus on the physical demands of the game (proper running technique, changing of direction, explosiveness, foot speed, reaction time and injury prevention). These begin March 3rd. Student athletes should bring cleats and running shoes. Incoming freshmen are welcome to attend.
Pre Season Phase. June-July (starting June 7th)
Mondays (Instructional Days) Session 1 (8:00-9:30 AM) Session 2: (7:00-8:30 PM) 6/7, 14, 21, 28, 7/12, 19, 26.
Tuesday (Strength Training) 8:00-9:15 AM
Wednesday (Open Nets) 7:00-8:30 PM
Thursday (Strength Training) 8:00-9:15 AM
Friday (Conditioning) 8:00-9:00 AM
*Personal Fitness (CTT) all players will complete the weekly “Cardio Training Tracker”.
Important Items in July:
Youth Camp: 2nd week of July (July 12-14).
Team Camp: 3rd week of July (pursuing options and logistics) stay tuned.
Showcase: 4th week of July (Dublin Showcase, July 30-31).
*Arrive 15 minutes early to prepare physically and mentally. Greet your teammates and coaches.
*Wear Berlin training gear (or our colors) royal, light blue, white, grey or black. NO club gear.
*Be equipped properly (soccer cleats, shin guards with soccer socks, running shoes, water.
*Players communicate absences or conflicts with Coach directly.
*Community Service- the Youth Camp and other outreaches to come are events that we are committed to invest into our community.
*Academics (GPA) compete in the classroom, your effort reflects your eligibility for next season.
*June is the suggested month for vacations as July becomes active leading into the season.
*Instructional Days are important as we will be teaching our system of play. Please plan accordingly. These are a priority.

*Tryout- August 2, 3 (team selection)
